Those members that took part in the Markers Course all enjoyed the 2 sessions and I know that they all learnt a lot and we look forward to seeing them use their new skills to help mark club matches through the season. Thanks go to Janet Moores for arranging the course and a very big thanks go to Ray Keen for giving up some of his valuable time to come along to Hazells and deliver an excellent course.

27th April 2013

Well the sun didn't exactly shine over Hazells today however our much anticipated first game of the season was enjoyed by all, despite the result. As usual our visitors Aston Clinton were given a warm welcome and everyone played the game in the true spirit of a local derby. Hazells welcomed 2 new club members, Peter Spokes & Norman Bonham, for their first game and they contributed to a close win on their rink 20-17.  Rink 1 saw a change in players part way through the match due to an injury and we wish Jan a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the green very soon. The final result saw Aston Clinton win by 120 to 110, despite both clubs winning on 3 rinks each. We wish Aston Clinton an enoyable season and look forward to meeting them again soon.

We now have a free day tomorrow but will look forward to our various matches next weekend.

20th April 2013

Finally we have seen some sunshine this year which encouraged many of our members to join in our Green Opening Fun Bowl on Saturday.  Eight teams played 3 maches of 7 ends each with all bowlers changing team order per match. Despite a few tired limbs by the end of the afternoon an enjoyable time was had by all and congratulations to our winning team of Denise, Sylvia & Pam.

With our first game of the season now only a few days away we hope to see members getting in some early season practice this week.
