16th July, 2013

It was a dissappointing night for Hazells tonight in the Bucks Knockout Cup with the men loosing in all 4 disciplines at home to Wingrave.

19th May, 2013

This morning Hazells B took on Cheddington in the National Club Two Fours competition and confidence was high following the win by the A team on Friday.  On rink 1 Roger Crick, Fred Baldwin, John Smith & David James started their match slowly however they managed to win their match 24-22. On rink 3 Gerald Moores, Steve McNeill, Tony Leone & Ian Brown also got off to a bad start and despite picking up 6 shots towards the end of the game they still ended up losing 27-18.

17th May, 2013

This evening Hazells A hosted Waddesdon B for their National Club Two Fours match. This was a very close match with Andrew MacKenzie, Eddie Chanell, Jack Pipe & George Murdoch winning their game 20-16. Don Russell, Peter Spokes, Brian Abigail & Lionel Cheshire narrowly lost thier gamne 21-19 however this was still enough to ensure that the Hazell's team progressed through to the next round.

MENS CLUB MATCHES

BUCKS PLATE

8th May (Wed) – Hazells 66 v Aston Clinton 63

Despite losing 19-17 and 18-12 at home we managed to win 22 - 11 and  draw 15-15 at Aston Clinton giving us the overall win in our first game of the Bucks Plate this season.

31st May (Fri) – Hazells 109 v Winslow 40

Tonight Hazell's men won on all 4 rinks giving them maximum points.

George Murdoch, Andrew MacKenzie & Brian Abigail won 39-5

Ian Brown, Peter Spokes & Roger Crick won 24-9

David James, Steve McNeill & Gerry Moores won 26-13

John Smith, Lionel Cheshire & Nick Griffiths won 20-13

12th June (Wed) – Wing

Tonight our team continued in their search for immediate promotion back to the Bucks Cup with a 12-2 win against Wing. The 2 home teams won 20-11 and 25-9 with 1 of the away teams winning 20-12 and the other losing 15-13. This has meant that we have set up a Grand Finale against Long Crendon next week with Hazells now sitting top of the league. Both Hazells & Long Crendon have 35 points however Hazells have a shot difference of 101 whereas Long Crendon are 40 shots behind. For those of you not involved in next weeks match please come along and support our teams. 

19th June (Wed) – Long Crendon

 Tonight saw Hazells take on Long Crendon in the crucial match which would see the winner gaining promotion to the Bucks Cup next season.Our 2 teams that went to Long Crendon finished with Dave James, Gerald Moores & Steve McNeill drawing 15-15 and Nick Griffiths, Lionel Cheshire & John Smith losing 26-14. So Long Crendon took the home advantage picking up 3 points to 1 and a 12 shot advantage. Home advantage was also in evidence at Hazells though with Andrew MacKenzie, Brian Abigail & George Murdoch coming from behind to win 18-14 and Roger Crick, Peter Spokes & Ian Brown winning 20-7. So with a 4-0 win at home and a shot difference of 17 Hazells took the overall win by5 shots, 67-62 and an 11-3 points win. Well done team for winning the division and good luck in the knockout stages.

 

14th July v Chesham Broadway (Home) 10.00 am

This is the quarter final which will be played at home so please come along and support your club.

Following our win over Chesham Broadway we have been drawn against Denham Bowls Club in the Semi Final. This will be played at Waddesdon Bowls Club on Sunday 4th August 2013 at 10 am so please come along and support the team.

MID BUCKS LEAGUE

14th May (Tue) – Aylesbury Town – Home

Despite a cold, wet night our first Mid Bucks League match went ahead tonight against our old rivals from Aylesbury Town. It was our visitors who claimed a comfortable victory winning of 4 of the 5 rinks with our only winning rink coming from Andrew MacKenzie, Jack PIpe & George Murdoch. The final score of 57 - 94 meant Hazells took just 1 point from the match.

16th May (Thu) – Long Crendon – Away

Tonights trip to Long Crendon ended with a 78-76 win for Long Crendon, meaning that Hazells earnt just 3 points. Although the overall score was so close the individual scores were very diiferent with Gerald Moores, Steve McNeill & Tony Leone winning their match by 1 shot, Roger Crick, Peter Spokes and Ian Brown just holding on to a lead they held throughout the match to win 15-12. Our biggest wnning rink was Andrew MacKenzie, Jack Pipe & Lionel Cheshire winning 25-7.Nick Griffiths, Eddie Chanell and Brian Abigailplayed a close match but just lost out 21-17 and Matthew Crick, John Simmons & John Smith lost 26-6.

29th May (Wed) – Princes Risborough – Home

Despite the rain holding off and a having a 25 shot lead at the halfway stage of tonights match our luck changed and it was our visitors that ended up winning the match 96-90 with 2 winning rinks to each team and 1 drawn match.

5th July (Fri) – Cheddington – Home

We finally managed to earn our first win of this seasons Mid Bucks League with a 99-76 win at home to Cheddington. Neil Thompson, Tony Leaone & Ian Brown securing the highest winning rink with a 35-15 win and with 3 other wnning rinks we finally put an end to our losing run.

12th July (Fri) – Aston Clinton – Away

Tonight Hazells were looking to follow on from last weeks win when they travelled to Aston Clinton for the penultimate game of this seasons lague campaign. This was a close fought match however Hazells won on 3 of the 5 rinks and with an overall score of 87-77 they took 8 points to add to last week win. Highest winning rink of the evening went to Eddie Justice, Nick Griffiths & Tony Leone with a 20-10 win. The 2 other winning games were Peter, Jack & Brian winning 19-11 and Gerry, Steve & Roger winning 20-16.

26th July (Fri) – Waddesdon - Home

Tonight we played our last group game of the season in the Mid Bucks League and were looking to sign off with a win following our last 2 results however despite a 23-18 win for John Smith, Eddie Chanell & Colin James and a 23-10 win for Roger Crick, Don Russell & Lionel Cheshire we slipped to an 85-80 defat as we lost on the other 3 rinks.
