TRUNDELL TROPHY

Thursday 30th May – Trundell Trophy v Aylesbury Town – Won 43 - 30

This evening we got our Trundell Trophy underway with a good win. Ellen Livett, Judy Rogers & Kim Challinor were at home and got off to a great start going 10-1 ahead after 5 ends and despite losing the next 2 ends they won 7 of the next 8 ends and finished up 28-7 winners. Away Teresa Newman, Jan Moores & Inger McNeill had a tough night as they were 17-3 down after 11 ends however they then picked up a 6 and the continued to fightback and went in to the last end just 3 behind, however they then dropped a 5 to lose 23-15.

BURNHAM PLATE

Thursday 30th May – Burnham Plate v Long Crendon – Away – Won 23-15

This evening our ladies made their debut in the Burnham plate with a single rink playing at Long Crendon. Having had a fours team lose against the same Long Crendon side the night before we went in to this game looking for revenge. Ann Ramsay, June Redding, Leila Brindley & Carol Crick played well and picked up a 7 in their game and they earnt that revenge to get their competition off to a great start

Thursday 6th June – Burnham Plate v Wing – Won 35 - 16

Following last weeks win at Long Crendon Leila Brindley, Sheila Lawlor, June Redding & Carol Crick went in to this game confident they could follow on from last weeks success. They got off to a disappointing start and soon found themselves 8 -0 down however that seemed to be the encouragement they needed as they went on to win 35-16, to make it 2 wins from 2 and next up is Aston Clinton next week

20th June 2019 - 6.00pm - Wing - Away

This evening our Burnham Plate rink picked up the 3rd consecutive win away at Wing. On a very tricky green Ann Ramsay, Joan Sweetman, June Redding & Carol Crick earnt a comfortable 28-14 win to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Thursday 27th June 2019 – Burham Plate – Hazells v Aston Clinton – Home – Won 21-13  

This evening our Burnham Team were looking to make it 4 wins from 4 games at home to Aston Clinton. This week Sheila Lawlor, Joan Sweetman, June Redding and Carol Crick were in action and they continued to play some great bowls and although the game remained close through the early stages we managed to take control and went on to earn another important victory.

4th July 2019 - 6.00pm - Long Crendon - Home - Won 19 - 17

Having already beaten Long Crendon away and with their place in the quarter finals secured our Burnham Team went on to tonight’s game on the back of 4 wins from 4 games. This was always going to be a tough game as Long Crendon knew that with a win they could take top spot of the division. This was a close game throughout with both teams playing some great bowls however it was Leila Brindley, Sheila Lawlor, June Redding and Carol Crick that took the lead and were 17-13 ahead with 4 ends to go. We then dropped 2 2’s to go level and courtesy of some great bowls from the team we managed to pick up 2 shots from the last 2 ends to take a 17-15 win. With top place now secure we go in to next weeks final group game looking to achieve a clean sweep of 6 wins.

Thursday 4th July 2019 – Burham Plate – Hazells v Aston Clinton – Away – Won – 21 - 15

Although we had already secured top spot in our division of the Burnham Plate our ladies went to Aston Clinton, in this re-arranged game, looking to continue their winning run and make it a 100% record in the group. Leila Brindley, Ann Ramsay, Joan Sweetman & Carol Crick got off to a great start, going 15 – 4 ahead after 10 ends however the home side then started to get back in to the game and pulled the score back to 15-13. Despite being 5 down on the next end Carol managed to pick up the jack with last bowl to pick up 2 shots for Hazells and from there they kept their nerve and went on to win 21 – 15. We will now be at home in the Quarter Finals on the 4th August.

Saturday 17th August 2019 – Burnham Plate Semi Final – Hazells v Long Crendon – Won 23 - 16

This morning our ladies were at Bletchley St Martins for their semi final tie against Long Crendon. Having already beaten Long Crendon twice during the group stages we went in the to game confident that we could progress to the final, although knowing that Long Crendon would be determined not to lose to us again.  Ann Ramsay, Leila Brindley, June Redding & Carol Crick put in a great performance and led the match from early on and earnt their place in the final against Chalfont St Giles with a 23-16 win

Ladies Friendlies

24th April 2019 - 2.30pm - Wendover - Away - Won 44-26

This afternoon our ladies travelled to Wendover where they played 2 rinks, with Ann Ramsay & June Redding playing half a game each. Sheila, Cath, Joan & Carol Crick led from the start in their game and a run of 5 winning ends where they picked up 12 shots gave them a 17-4 lead and they went on to win 21-11. Ellen, Marion, Karen & June/Ann also got off to a great start going 9-1 ahead after 6 ends and they were 23-9 ahead after 16 ends and despite dropping 6 shots on the last 2 ends they ensured a winning start for the ladies.

14th May 2019 - 6.00pm - Long Crendon - Away - Cancelled

22nd May 2019 - 2.00pm - Cheddington -Away

18th June 2019 - 6.00pm - Aylesbury Town - Away - Match abandoned due to waterlogged green

2nd July 2019 - 2.30pm - Aston Clinton - Away

Monday 15th July 2019 – Hazells v Princes Risborough – Ladies Friendly – Home – Won 41 - 25

This afternoon’s game was played as 2 triples and although each team won 1 rink Sheila Lawlor, Cath Cowan & Ann Ramsay dominated their game going 16-0 ahead after 8 ends and they went on to win 29-9. In the other triple Ellen Livett, Joan Sweetman & June Redding went behind early on however they then managed to get in to a 9-6 lead after 10 ends however a disappointing finish which saw them drop 8 shots from the last 4 ends meant they lost 16-12.

8th August 2019 - 6.00pm - Long Crendon - Home

20th August 2019 - 2.30pm - Aston Clinton - Home - Lost 31-19

This afternoons friendly against Aston Clinton saw just 2 ladies triples each and this was not to be our afternoon. Ann Ramsay, Karen Seegoolam & Ann Richardson only won 7 ends in their game and had a run of 6 lost ends in a row, including a 6, as they lost 18-8. Ellen Livett, Anne Farmer & Jan Moores had a much closer game and their scores was level at 10-10 after 14 ends however they lost 13 - 11

4th September 2019 - 2.00pm - Cheddington - Home

12th September 2019 - 2.30pm - Wendover - Home

19th September 2019 - 2.30pm - Winslow - Home
