TRUNDELL TROPHY -

28th May 2015 v Princes Risborough - Won 44-28

This years Trundell Trophy has been extended with more teams to play and we got off to a great start tonight winning at home 25-10 and 19-18 away.

11th June 2015 v Aylesbury Town - Lost 39-42

Unfortunately despite winning the away match we lost at home and lost the game by 3 shots overall.

25th June 2015 v Waddesdon

2nd July 2015 v Wendover

9 July 2015 v Cheddington - Won 47-24

TOP CLUB - Waddesdon - Lost 3-1

This was a tough match played in equally as challenging conditions with the bright subshine making play almost impossible with bowlers unable to see the other end of the green every other end. With just the triple of Teresa Newman, Ann Ramsay and Ann Richardson the only winning rink it meant a short hourney in this years competition.

FRIENDLIES

12th May 2015 - Long Crendon v Hazells - Lost 51-60

We had to deal with very strong winds & swarms of bees coming out of the green every time the sun shone. We were 1 player short so Sue Smith & Ann Richardson played as a pair against Long Crendon’s triple. They drew 16-16. Sue Morgan, Ellen Livett & Kate Griffiths also drew 20-20. Dot Russell, Nina Griffiths & Denise Boult were not so lucky. Although they picked up 4 shots on the last end they lost 15-24. After 9 ends the score was 27-31 to LC, final score 51-60.

14th May 2015 - Hazells v Wendover - Match Postponed Due to Bad Weather

20th May 2015 - Cheddington v Hazells - Won 35-27

This match was played as 2 rinks and each side 1 of the matches with Cheddington winning 18 - 12 and Hazells won the other game 23-9 through Sheila Lawlor, Sue Smith, Kate Griffiths & Denise Boult

9th June 2015 - Aylesbury Town v Hazells - Lost 36 - 49

This was a close match for the majority of the game until the last 4 ends when the home side pulled away to earn a 13 shot win

17th June 2015 - Hazells v Princes Risborough - Lost 27 - 66

This was a similar game ot our last friendly with Aylesbury in that the first half of the game was quite close but the visitors then pulled away and we didn't manage to get back in to the game, finishing with a heavy 39 shot loss.

23rd June 2015 - Hazells v Long Crendon - Won 32-29

Unfortunately Long Crendon were only able to bring 7 players with them for today's game which meant we played 1 rink and 1 triple. It was the rink, led by Captain Ann, that won their game and despite being close for most of the match we maneged to pull away picking up 5 shots in 1 end late on. The score on the rink was an 18-11 win whereas the triples game saw Long Crendon take a 14-2 early lead and despite a late comeback from Hazells we lost 18-14. This did though mean that the match finished in a 3 shot win for Hazells

30th June 2015 - Aston Clinton v Hazells

This afternoon’s game at Aston Clinton was cut slightly short due to the extremely hot temperatures. Having completed 16 ends of this friendly we were drawing 18-18 on 1 rink, winning 15-11 on another and the 3rd rink we were losing 21-6

14th July 2015 - Waddesdon v Hazells

18th August 2015 - Hazells v Aston Clinton - Won 87-61

This match was changed from 3 triples to 4 as both clubs had enough ladies. This makes a nice change instead of dropping ladies or phoning around. Hazells ladies had a good afternoon winning on 3 out of 4 triples with an overall win of 26 shots. Dot Russell, Ann Ramsey & Anne Farmer at half way were 13-3 up but stuck on 13 for 5 ends to be 13-11 up when they started to pull ahead and finished 23-12.
Karen Seegoolam, Sylvia McNulty & Inger McNeil had a very steady, even game but came out the victors 23-21. Sue Morgan, Kate Griffiths & Ann Richardson started very even till they got to 10 shots and stuck for several ends by which time their opponents had gone steadily ahead for them to be the only losing rink 12-22. Ellen Livett, Sheila Lawler & Jan Moores had a strong game with them winning 14 of the 18 ends to an impressive win 29-6. Final score was 87-61 in favour of Hazells

2nd September 2015 - Hazells v Cheddington

10th September 2015 - Wendover v Hazells

17th September 2015 - Hazells v Winslow

Winslow had a full team while we were still short but three of our ladies were persuaded to play. So thanks go to Denise, Sheila Lawler and Margaret for agreeing to play at short notice.
Denise, Ellen and Sue Morgan had a slow start and on 11 ends were 4-20 down but they fought hard and pulled back winning the last seven ends still not quite enough but a good try ending on 15-20.
Ann Ramsey, Sheila Lawler and Margaret Matthews had a very even match with them going in to the eighteenth end even and unfortunately lost by 1 shot finishing 13-14
Kate Griffiths, Sue Smith and Sylvia McNulty also had a close game they were 5-7 down at half way pulling back to 14-12 on the seventeenth end to lose 2 shots on the last end making it a draw 14-14
Despite the overall loss of 6 shots the ladies enjoyed their last match. Hopefully they will be looking forward to taking part in the friendlies again next season.
